The day will start visiting the ruins area of Pompeii, whose excavations started thanks to Charles the III OF Borbon and is the third most visited national site in Italy located along the southern slopes of Mt Vesuvius. Herculaneum, casually found during a water well drilling in the 17th century, is the other Roman town destroyed by pyroclastic flow during the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 A.D. One of the highlights of this beautiful ruins is definitely Villa dei Papiri, where, a great collection of over 1800 papyrus, 50 marbles and 20 bronze sculptures were found.
